I can't explain how fantastic Skylar and all the work she did was. Skylar (and her husband) did a photo shoot for my wife, two kids, and me. I was very nervous going in, as my oldest son was barely 3 and my youngest son was only 8 months. Skylar and her husband Jimmy were so good with the kids, to the point my three year still asks about when we will hang out with them again. They were very patient with waiting for all of us to be ready to get the best shot. I can’t say enough how I admire Skylar’s intimate and lively approach to photography. Getting your pictures taken be such an agonizing experience when you’re not comfortable with it, and Sky’s entire being puts you at ease. I’ll never forget the evening we spent together at the Windows section of Arches National Park. I found Skylar through instagram as I was searching through wedding photographers in Portland via hashtags. I remember coming across her work and I was in awe of one photo that really showcased her ability of shooting and playing with light and shadows. After researching more into her portfolio and following her on insta stories, I just knew she was the photographer for me. And I was not disappointed. We were in the first wave of weddings affected by COVID-19, in April of 2020. When it became clear that our original plans weren't going to happen, we dove head-first into organizing a small, intimate elopement ceremony two weeks before our original wedding date.
